National Fighting Championship Posters

This project was created to advertise my friend’s National Fighting Championship debut.
My main source of inspiration was a collection of Ultimate Fighting Championship posters by Bogdan Katsuba.

Color corrected photos
I used two lighting umbrellas and a Sony a6000 to photograph my friend in various fighting poses.
After capturing photos we both liked, I imported the RAW photos into Lightroom Classic for post-production. Once the photos were color corrected I imported them into Photoshop.
I experimented with different blending modes and type layouts until I achieved the look I wanted. My main goal was to make sure the information was clearly communicated. I also wanted the type to be dynamic and play off of the different poses.

I experimented with a variety of colors but ultimately chose to use red, white, and black because they’re the colors used in the NFC logo.
